Voyager Wrap

It's 70 degrees in Des Moines, which means its time to put away the coats and pick up some fun spring wraps!  One of our favorites is the Voyager Wrap by Julie Dientz.  We featured it as a project for our Spring Knit 9 and it was extremely popular.  Below is the pattern, and you can also find it free on Ravelry here

Finished size:
Approximately 24” by 75”

Gauge:
22 stitches per inch in stockinette

Materials:
Mrs.Crosby Carpet Bag (4 skeins)
US#11 needles, or size to obtain gauge

Instructions:
Loosely cast on 84 stitches.

Rows1-6: Slip the first stitch as if to purl; knit to the end.
(Note: if you used long tail cast on, Row 1 will already be completed.)

Row 7: Slip the first stitch as if to purl, K5, *slip 1 as if to purl, K2, pass the slipped stitch over the 2 knitted stitches, K3,* repeat until there are 6 stitches left, K6.

Row 8: Slip the first stitch as if to purl, knit 4, *purl 5, YO,* repeat until there are 5 stitches left (ending with purl 2), knit 5.

Row 9: Slip the first stitch as if to purl, K5,*K3, slip 1 as if to purl, K2, pass the slippedstitch over the 2 knitted stitches,* repeat until there are 6 stitches left, K6.

Row 10: Slip the first stitch as if to purl, knit 4, purl 2, *YO, purl 5, * repeat until there are 5 stitches left, K5. Repeat Rows 7-10 to desired length (approximately 73-74 inches).

Final 6 rows: Slip the first stitch as if to purl; knit to the end.

Cast off
