One of the crowd favorites from last week's Knit 9 event was the Mitered Square Pillow! Below is the pattern for those of you who feel adventurous. If you get stuck or need any help, just stop in the store any time!
2 skeins main color (400 yards ww yarn total)
1 skein contrasting color (200 yards ww yarn)
Model uses 2 skeins Rowan pure wool worsted
#13-24 or 32 inch needle
Gauge = 11 stitches / 4 inches
SK2P = slip 1 stitch, knit the next 2 stitches together, pass slip stitch over (2 decreases)
With yarn held double and contrasting color, cast on 81 stitches. Place marker on middle stitch.
Row 1: (WS) knit
Row 2: with main color, knit to 1 stitch before middle stitch (marked stitch) SK2P, knit to end
Row 3: knit
Row 4: with cc, knit to 1 stitch before middle stitch (marked stitch) SK2P, knit to end
Row 5: purl
Repeat rows 2-5 until 3 stitches remain, ending repeat with row 4.
WS: With main color: SK2P = 1 stitch remains.
Turn and slip the last stitch to right needle and then pick up 39 more stitches along top of square
(WS) Knit 1 row (turning row)
Row 2: knit (RS)
Row 3: purl
Repeat above 2 rows until 15 inches from turning row.
Fold in half and hem 2 of the 3 sides. Place a 16” pillow foam and stitch remaining edge. Weave in ends.
