Classes

Here are some current requirements for classes:

Classes are limited to 4 people
Refund given if more than 3 days notice of cancelation

Most classes are 90 minutes long and cost $20, which doesn't include the cost of materials. Multi session classes may be higher. We require that you purchase yarn from our store for the class. Weaving is a longer class at 2 to 2 1/2 hours and costs $25, and we will sell or rent looms for you to use in class.

Money refunded for cancellations at least 3 days before the class for any of our classes.

Learn to Knit 1

Learn the basics of the knit stitch as we help you start on a scarf. Yarn needs to be purchased at YJC

Learn to Knit 2 - Cowl or Hat

Hat Class Friday October 3rd 5:30 - 7pm Register for Hat

Cowl Class Friday October 17th 5:30 - 7pm Register for Cowl

Now that you know the basic knit stitch (required to take this class), learn to knit in the round and how to purl. Choose either the cowl class or the hat class as they are offered at different times. Yarn needs to be purchased at YJC

Fair Isle class

Want to learn fair isle? Come to class with the brim done (knitting and purling) and we will start making the chicken and fence. Pattern free on Ravelry. Uses worsted weight yarn such as Vintage, Rios, etc. Brim is with size 4-16 needle and hat is size 6-16 Yarn must be purchased at YJC

Worsted weight socks, 2-part class

Learn how to make socks using magic loop technique, turn a heel and kitchener stitch to seam the toe. Worsted weight yarn and size 6-32 inch needle needed. Yarn must be purchased at YJC

Toe Up Two at a time socks

2 part class Class fee $30

Learn how to make socks, two at a time. We will be using DRK everyday sock pattern and fingering weight yarn. Yarn must be purchased at YJC

Basic Brioche Cowl

Learn the basics of brioche using 2 colors. please come to class with cast on 70 stitches with bulky yarn (ie Mecha) main color and size 11-24 needle and knit one round. Make sure your colors are very contrasting so you can see the pattern Yarn must be purchased at YJC

Tunisian Crochet

Learn the basic Tunisian stitch as you crochet. Must be able to do the basic crochet stitches prior to class. You will need one skein of Cumulus DeGrade yarn (purchased at YJC) and a tunisian hook (available at YJC)

Learn to Crochet 1

Learn the basics of crocheting. Single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, slip stitch, chain. Must buy your yarn from YJC. This class is for ages 14 or older.

Crochet Blanket (Crochet 2)

Nov 15th 10.30-12pm Register Online

You will learn how to crochet in the round, making one big square, learning color changes as you go. You must know how to crochet to take this class.

For the class, you will need to have an I hook (can buy at YJC) and 2 different colors of either Cascade 220 superwash or Berroco Ultra Wool yarn for a total of 5 skeins (need to purchase from YJC)

Learn to Weave 1

Nov 16th 1.30-3.30pm Register Online

Learn the basics of weaving with the cricket loom. We will teach you how to warp and weft in our 2 hour session. We offer looms for purchase or rental for the week after class. Ask about options when signing up for class. You will need 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn purchased at YJC.
